Beyond providing quality animal nutrition, building a better future also means helping communities thrive. Across Asia, Aboitiz Foods’ subsidiary, Gold Coin, continues to strengthen its commitment to creating lasting impact by supporting initiatives that improve lives, expand opportunities, and foster resilient communities.
Guided by Aboitiz Foods’ brand promise, Together We Nourish the Future, Gold Coin recently carried out two community initiatives in Malaysia and China – from promoting better healthcare to expanding access to education – supporting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In Labuan, Malaysia, Gold Coin Sabah partnered with Sabah Flour & Feedmills Sdn. Bhd. and the Labuan Hospital Blood Bank for a blood donation drive, organized to help address local blood supply shortages. The initiative also encouraged a culture of volunteerism and shared responsibility for community health.
Held at the Urban Transformation Centre in Labuan, the outreach brought together employees, volunteers, and healthcare professionals in support of a common purpose. Over 80 individuals registered to donate, resulting in more than 50 successful blood donations.
Beyond increasing the availability of safe blood for emergency care, surgeries, and medical treatments, the initiative strengthened partnerships between Gold Coin and its local stakeholders to build healthier, more resilient communities.

We managed to meet more eager blood donors than we usually see! We look forward to more partnerships like this.”
The initiative supports SDGs 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Empowering the next generation through education

For six years, Gold Coin Zhangzhou has been supporting Huangtian Primary School under Project EduCare – an Aboitiz Foods’ corporate social responsibility program that aims to help address educational gaps in underserved communities. Through this initiative, the company provides educational resources and supports students facing financial challenges, helping create a conducive learning environment.
This year, Gold Coin Zhangzhou provided classroom and sports equipment, teaching tools, art and mental-health supplies, gift packs, and financial assistance to an underprivileged student. These resources directly benefited more than 70 students and teachers, enhancing academic, physical, and personal development.
Aside from providing essential resources, the initiative has strengthened the collaboration among Gold Coin, local leaders, educators, and the wider community—demonstrating how sustained partnerships can create opportunities that extend well beyond the classroom.
“Thank you to the Gold Coin Group for your six years of assistance and support for Huangtian Primary School. I hope our students will carry this kindness, hold gratitude in their hearts, and move forward with optimism,” said Zeng Wenxiu, School Head, Huangtian Primary School.
These initiatives under Project EduCare support SDGs 4 (Quality Education) and 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
Through initiatives rooted in collaboration, care, and shared purpose, Gold Coin continues to demonstrate that nourishing the future means building trusted partnerships, investing in people, and creating lasting shared value with its partner communities – making an impact beyond the food value chain.
